Muse Daily: Oct 1 — Meta's "Muse for Small Business": An Agent That Works Your Back Office

이미지
There's one line in Meta's announcement for Muse for Small Business that tells you exactly who it's for. It quotes Tom Mulholland, a grocery store owner, saying he works about 65 hours a week and that "there are so many things where I'm the only one who can do them." If you've run a small shop, a restaurant, or an online store, you know that sentence in your bones. You're the cashier, the accountant, the marketer, and the person replying to DMs at 11 PM. Meta's pitch, announced September 29, is that its Muse AI agent can now take some of that load. Not by answering trivia, but by working inside the tools you already use. Photo: Gary Hoover (CC0) What it actually is Muse for Small Business is the same Muse agent Meta launched earlier in September for consumers (muse.ai), configured to work with business context. According to Meta's announcement, you give it a goal like "run my business" or "find new customers," and it pla...

Muse Is Invite-Only Right Now — Here's Exactly How to Get In

Muse is currently invite-only. You can't just sign up — you need an invite code, entered in the right place, within a time limit. Here are the exact steps: Go to https://muse.ai/join and create your account. Open Settings. The code doesn't go on the signup page — this is the step most people miss. Enter the invite code: P74B9O Do it within 48 hours of joining. The window starts when you create your account, so don't wait. That's the whole process. When you enter the code in Settings within 48 hours, you receive 1 billion Muse tokens — and so does the person who invited you. A few things worth knowing: Codes are first come, first served and have limited uses. If the code doesn't work, it has likely run out — look for a fresh one. If you've been waiting for a way in, here it is: https://muse.ai/join with code P74B9O . Disclosure: this is my referral code — I'll receive tokens too when you use it. That's how the program works for both of us...

Muse Daily: Oct 1 — The Phone Calls Weren't Always AI: What the "Human Concierge" Story Means for You

이미지
Here's a scenario that should make you pause. You ask Muse to call your internet provider and haggle over your bill. The call goes through, the negotiation happens, and you get a nice summary afterward. Everything looks like AI magic, except the voice on the other end of that call belonged to a human contractor sitting in a call center somewhere, and nobody told you. That's what Reuters found happening inside Meta last month, and the details are worth your attention if you plan to let any AI agent make calls for you. Photo: Petiatil (CC BY-SA 3.0) What the phone feature actually does Muse's phone-calling feature works the way you'd expect an agent to work. You tell it to dial a US business and handle an errand: book a haircut, check whether a store has an item in stock, get quotes from contractors. The agent places the call and talks to whoever picks up. Meta started testing it with employees in August and rolled it out to users in the days after the app's September...
